I just learned that Fedex is going to be closing all the hub locations in my area. As it stands the nearest one is almost an hour away from us.
Has anyone heard anything about the closures? Are we going to be able to ship from “on site” locations?
Does anyone have any information about this?

You’d have to email FedEx or one of the shipping providers (Redline, SYR, R2U, though they may not know and tell you to contact FedEx directly) to know for sure, but my guess is likely no, you will not be able to ship from on site locations. FedEx Office and Print Centers as well as Walgreens locations have the ability to deny shipments. Usually if it’s not a facility that accepts dangerous goods & has hold for pickup, they will not accept live animals.
All of that said, while it’s not the most ideal option, I believe all of the shipping services offer a “schedule a pickup” option where a FedEx driver will come to you to pick up the animal. It is an extra charge, around $5, but it’s at least something to think about.
