Are they mating or goin thru the motions?
It’s impossible to tell from this photo if they are breeding.
I definitely recommend housing them separately so that you can avoid questions like this. it’s not as common as in other species, but ball pythons will cannibalize sometimes. Especially when they are in hunting mode after a feed. Otherwise you can be causing stress by housing the two so they compete for resources like this. Which can cause to feeding issues or potential breeding injuries
Not to be rude but I would think all you need to do is lift the half log a bit and you should be able to see if they are locked.
Are you intending to breed them? If so the log is not necessary. If it were me I would not want my view obstructed just to make sure one is not harming the other.
If you are not intending to breed they need to be separated, as @armiyana said……
I also agree with others on separating them. Given the oversaturation in the market and the lack of desirablity of this pairing, breeding them isn’t a great idea and cohabitation is likely to lead to stress.
If this is a permanant enclosure I’d also reccomend adding some more suitable hides
