Female overdue/egg bound?

No problem, it drives me nuts to see people saying you didn’t get her treated, especially since Emily outright mentions in the video you brought her to the vet multiple times. That said, I understand that a lot of those people don’t necessarily keep or know much about reptiles & their treatment, so trying to educate is always the first course of action.

Figured I would give one more update for anyone interested! We’re almost a year post-surgery now (just a few days off) and Zinnia is happy and healthy. I’ve palpated her gently and no signs of follicles or anything else strange. She goes with me to reptile shows and educational programs now and she’s my sweetest snake. A few pics of her doing her thing!

Hi y’all. I just wanted to let everyone know of a sad update. Zinnia passed away a few months ago, peacefully overnight. There was no indication anything was wrong, she was eating and everything for me, but as we know from this thread snakes are excellent at hiding their discomfort. I let Emily and Ed know a while ago but forgot to update here. I miss her greatly, but I’m guessing something else was wrong internally, which would make sense since she had so much trouble breeding. She was a sweet snake and I’m very glad for the time I had with her - I got nearly two and a half years with her after her surgery.

I’m so sorry for your loss Kayla! Zinnia was a beautiful girl that life dealt a an unfair blow. As you said, animals keep their illnesses close to the vest so to speak. You did the best for her as did Emily and Ed as well.:pray:

I’m so sorry. She had such an incredibly complicated life, and I’m glad you had the time you did have with her and the amazing care you gave her while she was here.

Such a long road to have journeyed, but such an amazing story. I wish you’d been able to have many more years with her after everything you went through with her, but I’m glad you got the time and opportunity to have her as long as you did.
