Finally getting some chicks!

We’ve never had ducks before, but I have wanted to own some. We don’t have any water features though.

Well turns out i got very busy these last few days with graduation and end of school parties but here are the pictures!

Here’s Fezzik (Splash Jersey Giant) and Bluebell (Prairie Bluebell Egger)

Buzzy the Turken

Olive the Olive Egger

Tyrone the Houdan

And Reese’s Puff the silkie!

Tyrone and Reese’s are the most friendly. Tyrone loves to be held and ride on your shoulder and Reese’s loves to follow us around and be with us. Reese’s is also so incredibly tiny and she’s so cute.

So uh…. We went the the chicken place today and mayyyyy have gotten some more chickens. We went with the intention of getting 3 more silkies as friends for Reeses Puff cause she’s the only smaller chicken, and came back with a few more than 3 :joy:. We got a Frizzle Calico Bantam Cochin (long name i know) named Mrs. Frizzle, a buff silkie, a blue silkie, and four baby black silkies. Technically we only bought two chickens, the buff silkie and the frizzle. The blue silkie she gave to us for free because she felt bad about Reese’s’ cross beak. Then the four babies she gave to us for free because they were runts and needed more individual care, so we’re just gonna bring her back any of them that become roosters and keep the rest. She also said that I could take a good amount of chicks every couple months and raise them up for her then give them back when they’re ready to be sold and i’ll get half of the cost of the chicken when they sell! I think i’m probably gonna do that when we give back any silkie roosters and then if we bond with any of them we would get them either half off or she might just let us keep them, not sure. Either way very exciting!!

Some pictures of the new babies and of the farm. I’ll get some good individual pictures either later today or tomorrow.

Today was my birthday and I got a new phone but my old one that is over 4 years old decided to take 6 freaking hours to transfer over so this is the only pic until tomorrow. The camera quality is so much better so I am really happy about that. It is well after sunset yet it still is higher quality than my old phone in perfect conditions. And unlike my old one, the battery doesn’t die within an hour or 2 of use!

Oh my goodness I got a new phone for my birthday too! What do you have now (I got to upgrade my 7 pro to an 11 lol)

My favorite Cochin combination! They look so cool as adults as well. They are so round and cute for their whole lives lol.

I went from a SE (2020 Model) to a 14. I almost got an 11 pro as my dad was upgrading to a 15 a couple months ago but he got a good deal to trade it in. I did squeeze every last bit of value out of my last phone to the point that the battery died so quickly I couldn’t use it for 30 minutes while playing games before I had to plug it in . I managed to go 3 1/2 years without cracking it which is an absolute miracle. But let’s just say that the crack resulted in me duck taping my phone back together and being able to see inside of it. I still miss my home button :smiling_face_with_tear:

I miss the home button too lol. I think I had my old phone for like 3 years as well, and I never cracked it, which I’m pretty proud of

How did I forget to update the pictures for so long? :man_facepalming:

Anyway they turned 11 weeks old on Wednesday. We still have a ways to go before everyone is laying as jersey giants can take up to a year and Brahmas up to 9 months but I will probably be getting my first egg in 5-10 weeks from Star or Goldie!

Prudy

Goldie

Star

Jingle

Princess

Luna

All of them are super friendly and curious which is super great to see. Well, all except for Jingle. She is a super scary cat who seems to be a loner even with the others. Luna was the same way up until 2-3 weeks ago so I am hoping that as Jingle continues to get bigger she will gain her confidence like Luna did
