First pairing, first lock

So, I’ve paired my first snakes and they’ve been locked now since Wednesday night! I’ve checked on them 3 times yesterday and twice today and they appear to have been locked the whole time.
I’ve read that a couple of days is “normal” but is there an amount of time that is too long?
If a too long amount of time exists is there a method to get them unlocked that doesn’t harm either one of them?
This may be the weirdest question I’ve ever had to ask.

Not that I’m aware of. I had a pair last year stay locked for almost an entire week. If you hear any thrashing or commotion in the tubs, you’d want to separate them.

Yeah like @nswilkerson1 says, just check on them a couple times a day you will eventually catch them unlocked. I wouldn’t try to separate at all. Congratulations on a lock as well!

Thank you to both of you guys! I was not super worried but it’s so good to know that they’re fine. My boys in there doing some good work!

Congrats on your first lock. I usually leave them be until they are done doing the deed.
