First pip 😱 (arctic baby)

I woke up yesterday post eclipse to see this one baby has pipped! The pairing is super arctic pos het albino x albino pos arctic (it’s a female I suspect is arctic but this pairing will prove it out).

I’m stunned by how beautiful this first baby is already? I didn’t think arctic could be so black and white!

This is my first clutch from two hognoses I love, so I’m so excited!

None of the other babies have pipped yet, although two out of the other 5 eggs have dimpled. How long usually between different hatches?

I’m very excited as it’s been such a long time waiting for the babies to grow up and breed haha.

But it’s a very satisfying way of doing it.

Apparently Sophie, the mum, is an arctic! Two super arctics hatched out so far. One seems a bit slow though, and seems to have slow tongue flicks. Is this normal? Baby is moving fine just not very responsive initially.

I found her initially belly sideways and freaked out she was dead but she was flicking and responding well. She even dug herself into the substrate. I hope she’s going to be ok!
