Food strike ball python

So 6 weeks ago i went to pick up my rats for the bigger snakes and the breeders wife accidently gave the rats for my snake to someone else so we substituted larger rats they seemed like he could still eat them they were just a little bigger than he normally would get 1st time he ate it just fine then a couple weeks go by i go to feed again like usual and he decided its to big no big deal that 1 was a little bigger than the 1st 1 he ate and since it was larger i half expected him not to take it anyway i got his normal size and decided to wait the 2 weeks till his next regular feeding day so i didnt stress him out trying to get him to eat when he didnt want to and so hed be more likely to take his meal…no luck hes still refusing so the question is should i go down to 1 of the small rats i use for flame witch are about 25 to 30 grams (his normal is 130 grams) just to get him eating again and then next time give him a regular meal i know they can go a really long time without eating and hes a healthy weight so its not a huge deal (hes also nearing the 1 year old mark if that makes a difference in the answer)

Following… We are having the same issue with our oldest female. Tried the same remedies you have with no luck.

So if I understand correctly you were feeding him 130g rats previously? That’s a pretty large size for a yearling male, so I"m not entirely surprised he’d take a break from eating. I’d size down and just wait it out, he’s not going to starve to death. Unless he’s lost more than 10% of his body weight I wouldn’t be worried
