I have a clutch with some nice, slightly funky head stamps! I paired a coral glow female to both a Pied het DG and a Leo BP RS Clown male. She only gave me 3 eggs, and all 3 have obvious Leo, so you’d think id’ing them would be straight forward, but to my eyes the head stamps don’t look like Leo het Clown, they look more like Leo het Pied, but there is no Leo in the pied male as far as I know. So are they just high expression Leo, Leo RS or do I have a strange gene I don’t know about in my clown boy? I’d love your opinions! Ta!

Do you have photos of the parents?
The headstamps look to be comparable to those present in Spotnose, do either parents have similar headstamps?
Edit: Leos can have headstamps that appear like that as well

Oh lord! Don’t add another gene in I don’t know about 
No, neither parent has spotnose in them, again, as far as I know! I’m pretty sure the clown boy doesn’t and the mum definitely doesn’t. I guess it’s going to have to be a shed test panel to be sure what I’ve got. I love it when unexpected stuff turns up, but it’s frustrating when you have no idea what it is!
