Garter Breeders, thoughts on this pair

Showing traits are T-Albino and low expression Ery/extreme low expression Ery.

Both are het for melanistic, and long shot on b/w axanthic. Both are possibly het for snow and blizzard.

I hope the picture works as it’s my first time posting on here.

I assume both are radix? Age, and is the pair related or unrelated?

Yes, they are both radix. Sorry, I should have included that in the post. Both breeders I bought from confirmed that they aren’t related and the female 20 months old and the male is 18 months. The male is the one pictured and I’m not planning on breeding them this year as the female is 5 inches smaller (she was the runt) and I don’t want to put her at risk.

I want to know if this breeding project has prospect.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I’m not sure what the market is like in your area, but there is demand for garters. You also have the chance of proving out the possible hets and coming up with a good variety of genetics.

Locally, market isn’t that good since where I live is very cut off and has little room for diversity but I also live in a place that’s very centralized so it should make shipping easier. I have had a fedex account ready for the last year as that’s the only thing close enough to ship live animals.

What a pretty snake! I don’t work with garters but I always enjoy looking at them. I wish you luck in the future with them.

If you can ship I suspect you’d be able to move them with very little problem.
