hello i was told i was getting two girl geckos and want to double check pictures are of both
Welcome to the forum!
The photos aren’t that clear, so unfortunately I can’t give you an answer.
As you just got these geckos, I wanted to point out (if you didn’t realize already) that the end of the first gecko’s tail looks infected. The second gecko has a lot of stuck shed on its toes which needs to be removed.
Yeah as @leosforever says, both of those little guys need attention right away. The tail on the first one especially need medical treatment by a vet. Part of the tail looks necrotic, as in dead, in the first pic. Infection is imminent if not already infected.
If the stuck shed on the feet is not removed from the gecko in the second, pic toes may be lost. They both look a tad skinny as well but that may be due to being held.
I agree. The tip of the tail may need to be amputated if it doesn’t fall off on its own. This should not be left to fester in case of the gecko getting sepsis, or bacteria in the blood.
I would be very cautious getting animals from this source in the future as the first one especially is not something that happens regularly.
Shed on the toes sadly can be very common, but if not removed when it happens can lead to the toes becoming strictured and falling off from lack of blood supply. They can also in some cases become infected and may need amputation especially if the whole foot or part of the leg is also still stuck with shed.
