Genetics ID for Smaug the Red Ackie

So I recently acquired a female Rare Earth red ackie to pair with my male who I got from LLL reptiles 5 years ago. I never really cared what his genetics were because he was just gorgeous but now I’m kind of curious if anyone can tell me just by looking at him if he has any obvious traits or lines he might come from.

LLL iirc is basically just a reptile reseller and don’t do any specific breeding of their own so I would consider him a ‘normal’. If they purchased a rare earth line they would have been labeled as such for resale

Red Ackies are just a really pretty species overall.

Rare Earth is a line bred ackie for color and pattern. A polygenic trait. If you breed the two you might get some that look close to the Rare Earth, but it’s diluting the polygenic line.

To me the first ackie most resembles the ackies that come out of Germany, some people call them EU line red ackies, but they’re not really a line to my knowledge, just the result of the genepool in Germany. I’m definitely not an expert though, and I don’t know how LLL Reptile would end up with a German ackie, lotta effort for a reseller to get a species that you can get easily in the US, and then after all that effort to not even label it as such. So could just be a really pretty red ackie that happens to resemble the ones in Germany. I agree with @armiyana that you shouldn’t breed this one and the rare earth ackie, don’t wanna mess with that bloodline. Generally not a great idea to breed an individual of any species that has documented lineage with another individual that doesn’t have documented lineage.
