Wow! Ok, I didn’t know that. I saw them on a pet garter snake recommendations page. I hate AI.

Unfortunately that’s one of the issues with AI, doesn’t always give all the information you need. They’ve been listed as a threatened species since 1993, and they are protected under California state as well as Federal laws.
