Idk how common Oak trees are in Nebraska but Oak wood is safe for reptiles if you can find some branches (as long as you heat treat it of course).

The only wood I know of for sure that is not safe is any type of wood that has a strong sap/resin (Fir, Cedar, Pine…)

Hopefully others will point out any others that aren’t safe, those are just the big ones I am aware of.

Can you get a close up of the leaves? That would help at least narrow it down

That’s an ash. I couldn’t have told you from the picture of the tree, but the leaves make it clear. It’s safe.

Oops, just seeing this lol :joy:….I agree with @caryl. If you run the leaves through ID you get Ashes….leaves are easier to ID plants sometimes.

They are. I recognized them because there was an ash tree behind our house in Indiana which the kids were always climbing .

I am sure they will. :+1: I add things like that to mine from time to time. It’s like giving them a playground.

Haha yeah, hopefully they will keep chowing down despite having something new around. I’ve got corn snakes. That’s never been an issue with them.

I saw this before lol so far new hides havent been a problem i keep swapping for better 1s i just think my tanks r really simple granted they work snakes r happy but always room for improvement crazy how much theyve grown to from when i got them witch is another reason hides come and go

Everyone has a stick now  even if they dont climb them im adding plants to and that will give it something to grow up around i have to break off a taller stick if thats the case honestly i think it bothers me more than them with how they have nothing to climb on lol i just dont want to get those net things cuz im worried theyd get stuck or tangled up or something and the fake plants i just didnt like

So just a update all iron man uses his for is a chin and tail rest flame doesnt care at all that i see and cinnamon did something cuz it moved and i thought i had it wedged good but she said no its not
