Okay, this is super weird-
So I have a huge female pinstripe I was gonna start pairing this year (she hasn’t been paired since 2021 and has never laid before). She’s been bowl wrapping for a few months, and recently she’s been in a perfect roll (like my other girls did before laying)
Now I check her today to do cleanings, and she’s laying on her side??
-She shed about 3 weeks ago now
-She’s becoming more hissy
-She doesn’t want to be touched
Any ideas??
That was probably her pre lay shed. You should be getting eggs soon!! and congrats!
Hoping so! She actually just shed last week and has been WAY more defensive lately. I tried to palpate her, and either I didn’t do a good job or they’re big! I palpated my other girl, she’s got ping pong sized in her so I know I CAN palpate lol
I’ll definitely keep you updated! She’s been locking great lately and eating way more than she ever had before, so fingers crossed!

Thanks!! Though she’s currently locked with the male and is eating wayyy better than she’s ever done (wish she did this as a baby! 
) so I’m hoping she’s Gravid and just throwing us all off!
I know my other girl has ate and locked until days before she laid (I missed Ovulation, and she showed no signs!), so it’s POSSIBLE but I’m trying not to get my hopes up yet lol
My girl ate every single meal I offered her while she was gravid (I had no idea her previous owner had paired her years ago and she had retained sperm). It was quite the surprise for me. I was unprepared to say the least, since I had no intentions to breed any of our snakes.
Silly girls though, always keeping us on our toes by going against the norm
