Greetings from Duskglow Reptiles

Hi MorphMarket community,

I’m Alex Pescador, co-founder of DuskGlow Reptiles alongside my husband, Roy Pescador. I’d like to take a moment to introduce who we are and share a bit about what we do.

Professionally, Roy and I work in forensic search, rescue, and recovery, bringing with us a background deeply rooted in science and discipline. Our academic training spans virology, microscopy, biology, forensic anthropology, and detection K9 research and development. Through a separate business, we also train detection dogs and instruct their handlers- work that has taught us patience, attention to detail, and the importance of ethical, evidence-based practice. These same values guide every aspect of our reptile breeding program.

Over the years, we’ve volunteered with animal and reptile rescues, stayed active in the herpetoculture hobby, and even developed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for animal care in research. We hold certifications and training in laboratory animal management and husbandry, which provide a strong foundation in welfare, enrichment, health, and behavior management. These experiences shape how we raise our animals- always with intention, compassion, and a long-term perspective.

Reptiles have become our retreat at the end of long, demanding days. That deep appreciation for their quiet beauty inspired us to create DuskGlow Reptiles, where we aim to produce small numbers of healthy, socialized ball pythons with strong genetics and striking visual appeal. Our goal is to raise animals that are handleable as well as beautiful, and that will be ideal for both pet owners and other hobby breeders.

Our foundation projects include Pastel Desert Ghost Piebalds and Yellow Belly Banana Pieds. We love these morph combos not just for their appearance but also for their genetic strength and future potential. Looking ahead, we plan to incorporate modern pattern mutations to expand our visual palette while maintaining a firm commitment to genetic diversity and behavioral soundness.

Thanks so much for being here and supporting breeders and reptile enthusiasts like us. We’ve already met some wonderful people and look forward to connecting with more small-scale, passionate hobbyists who share our love for this work.

Edit to add: I forgot to include a photo! Below is our Pastel Confusion Leopard Yellow Belly female. She is absolutely beautiful (we’re biased), but we’ll probably try out the new auction feature with her soon since she doesn’t fit into our current project.

Welcome to this community! What a fascinating CV! You’ve got quite a breadth and depth of experience in so many areas.

I especially loved this part:

I feel the same way about my corn snakes. I love the phrase “deep appreciation for their quiet beauty.” Well said.

Once again, welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome!

We’ve been pleasantly surprised by the way some of our experiences can be applied to this hobby, particularly in microscopy and pathogens detection, which we’ll probably invest more into.

The reptiles are therapeutic in the way they allow us to shut our brains off, get away from our devices and distractions, and just relax. Even the routine of maintaining their enclosures and husbandry schedule is very “zen”.

Welcome to the crowd here Alex and hubby! So glad to have even more expertise by way of your up and coming company and your participation in this forum! It sounds like you guys really care about your animals which is hugely refreshing!

I think my “zenest” zen moment is when I can feel and hear the ever so gentle breath of one of my snakes in my ear. I can’t describe how it affects me other than to say it makes my heart happy!
