Matrix is a special gecko. I don’t mean he has health issues or has any weirdness going on. I mean he and I share a birthday. Two years ago, I got the best birthday present the reptile room could have given me and it turned out that he would gain a little popularity later on.
Matrix never believed in choice-based handling, and by that, I mean he never believed I got a choice! Any time I misted his enclosure, he jumped out onto the spray bottle. Any time I fed him, he’d run up my arm. He almost refused to be put up.
After about 6 months, he calmed down in the respect, but what I was left with was a nearly perfectly handleable skunk gecko!
Now, Matrix attends a local expo with me every month, he is an ambassador with our local herp society, and the spokes-gecko for The Caffeinated Lizard
