Well I have bad news. Reggie deteriorated pretty quickly into pneumonia and ultimately did not make it. 
I will be posting some pictures of our new BP soon hopefully. Thanks for all the advice.

I’m so sorry to hear that about Reggie! He must have been a lot sicker than we all expected. I surely hope you have much better luck with this new one you now have!

Reggie was certainly a beautiful ball python. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah at the end we had him on antibiotic shots and an oral antibiotic and oral anti inflammatory. Just wasn’t enough

I know this is all after the fact but do you think he was already sick when you got him?

Yeah we are pretty sure of it. I was at the vet with him only a few days after we got him

Wow! Let’s hope the seller wasn’t aware of his illness. That being said, it’s over and done with. I wish you all the luck with your new BP!

Please make sure to sterilize everything you can and throw away anything you can’t beforehand, that way you don’t risk giving the new snake the same disease.

I know it sucks but maybe you will be able to see the amazing Reggie the Destroyer again. I like to think about it this way- if you did all you could and it didn’t work out, then you trying is all that matters. I hope everything goes a bit smoother with your new guy though!
