We are looking to rehome our snake, but we were not her first owners so we don’t know what type of hybrid she is. She is about 5 feet long, we got her when she was about a year old 8 years ago, so she is between 8-9 years old. She enjoys climbing and exploring if that helps! All we know is that she is a hybrid Ball Python.
Doesn’t look hybrid to me. Nice looking pinstripe though.
She has a genetic mutation/morph which as gabonica said is called pinstripe.
Otherwise under the ‘paint color’ she looks to be 100% royal/ball python
I don’t see a hybrid either, though it’s possible that if it’s a low % hybrid it could be really hard to tell. She’s a pastel pinstripe (lemonblast) morph.
“Hybrid” would mean a cross between two closely related species. A liger is a hybrid animal resulting from the mating of a male lion and a female tiger. You do not have a hybrid. What you have is 100% Ball python.
As others have said, it definitely has a well-known genetic mutation called “Pinstripe”. It also appears to have a second well-known genetic mutation called “Pastel”. Someone long ago coined the phrase “Lemonblast” for a Ball Python with both Pinstripe and Pastel. So you have a Lemonblast Ball Python.
Thanks everyone! Yeah, we were told she was a hybrid, but maybe she wasn’t or it was a low percentage. You guys have all helped a lot!
