I know a lot of my guys (and singular gal) will stare and watch me. I just tell everyone they enjoy people watching and eating. Your guy is also probably just doing one of the two (or both)

So I did a little test. Noticed Icarus was awake so I ducked down so he couldn’t see me and he immediately lifted his head up 
so I think he is just watching

Boas are very visually stimulated. They love to watch their environment. All of my boas watch the room. And if there is anyone in there, my goodness, they are moving their heads to follow you lol
