Hi all , this is princess peach , she is one of my balls , she is about 10/11 months old , all we know is she has pinstripe in her . It’s driving my nuts I know everyone of my snakes morphs apart from her , is really appreciated any insight
Off the cuff, I would say your animal is likely a Pastel Pinstripe Mojave (or maybe Phantom). For a more accurate ID you would need to breed her out or send in a shed and have it tested by Ben
Okay brilliant, I do possibly have a male pinstripe I could breed her with once they are both at weight and old enough. But thank you very much I appreciate the help
I’d agree with her looking to be pinstripe mojave of some flavor.
I don’t suggest this route for proving her out, tbh. The market is incredibly oversaturated, and though she is very pretty (I have a soft spot for pinstripe), her alleged genes are very common and you’d likely be stuck with the babies for a very long time. The more ethical (and much faster, more sure-fire) route would definitely be to shed test.
Of course, if you’re down to wait another 2 to 3 years (she looks pretty young, right?) and have the space, resources, and commitment to keeping any potential babies however long it takes to find them new homes - or for life - then you definitely could try breeding to prove her out. But then you still may be left with questions, or hit poor odds where she does have a gene in her but doesn’t pass it to any of her offspring.
I’m gonna second everything said above.
Definitely has that Mojave or phantom/mystic pinstripe look.
And also agree shed testing is the better option there. I have sold 2-4 gene yearlings for the same price as one shed test. But the shed test means you can avoid any of the risks involved in breeding to find out.
She is young she’s around 10/11 months old , I think I’m going to look into shed testing , keeping babies for a long time wouldn’t be an issue but she is more of a pet than anything, so breeding her out isn’t top of my list for her honestly
I just want to take a moment to very specifically applaud you for making such a rational decision. Long-time members here are very familiar with my rants about people falling under the MLM mentality this hobby tends to promote and jumping right into breeding without first thinking about the bigger picture. It is so very refreshing to see someone that is happy to embrace just the keeping side
I have 13 royals 2 geckos 1 chameleon 1 scorpion and my dog lol they are all my babies breeding them isn’t why I got into reptiles, as amazing as it would be to have that experience of collecting the eggs , ECT seeing little tiny snakes or geckos pip and hatch , it’s not a oh if I breed these two I could make this morph and get this amount of money , I also know if I breed say my pastel cinnamon pied with my super pastel leopard pied id get amazing babies yes but I’d also want to keep every single one lol . And the longer I had them the more attached id get and then I definitely wouldn’t part with any . I’m more than happy with just enjoying them as the pets they are .
