HELP! My rescue Gargoyle geckos won't eat

I just rescued two gargoyle geckos from a lady and put them both into bioactive enclusores, starting to feed them crickets and mealworms, switched to a breeder and growth diet from Pangea, and calcium but the female weighs 9g and the male 15g! I seriously don’t know how that’s possible. Anyway, any tips? The two seperate tanks are their bioactice setups and the orange gecko is the male and the white stripe is the female. I don’t want them to die and I don’t handle them. I see them roaming the cage at night and they seem very alert and everything but they still don’t seem to be gaining at all (in fact they could be gaining less :frowning: Please any help is appreciated! l

They don’t look to be underweight. But hopefully someone who works more extensively with them will pop in for some advice.

Have you seen them eat any of the mix or the bugs?
What kinda clean up crew is in your bioactives? And how long have you had them?

@holliedee My garg boy will eat Repashy but he is not crazy about Pangea, so you might try the Repashy. Mango flavored seems to be the favorite at this house. If you want you want, Repashy makes a flavor called Banana Cream Pie powder which is kind of a treat for the them. You can mix some of that in with the other food as an enticement. It smells really good btw!

Your guys may very well be snacking on the isopods. I would suggest you nix the crickets and meal worms and stick with the powdered food, whichever you prefer to feed. You can also offer Dubia roaches as well. Keep a watch on the isopods if possible. Don’t add any more just in case they are getting eaten. You want to ensure that your little ones are eating the powdered food first……

I have an escape proof bug bowl that I put small Dubia roaches in and Fievel eats them at night along with his Repashy. The bugs are a supplement….

Tagging @nswilkerson1 to see if he has anything to add to or change from what I said……

I have not seen them eat either but I do notice in the slushie mix that they eat there are little indentations so I think they’ve licked some of that up. I only have springtails in their enclosures.

Thanks for the info! I wish they were eating isopods honestly but I never added any in there :frowning: I will check out repashy!

If you are seeing indentations that means they are eating the food. Remember that these little guys only need a few licks and they are full. They may just still be adjusting to new surroundings. I think they will be fine but don’t hesitate to come back if you still have concerns later……

They’re cute little creatures! I love gargoyles!
