Help sexing appreciated

Is my “alleged” female actually a female? I know bigger females can have a bulge like this, but would like extra opinions. She’s 70g

Well……. I’m no expert but that “girl” of yours looks like “she” has some “boys”! She looks like my boy Fievel down there……:face_with_monocle::thinking::face_with_raised_eyebrow::confused:

Edit to add: Love “her” colors btw!

I do see pores, but I don’t know exactly how sex presents in gargoyles, but if it’s anything like cresties, that’s a good sign that “she” may be a he…

I paired her with a similarly colored male. But I got nervous and questioned what a few people have told me. I paired her with my male and there hasn’t been any fighting. My confirmed male is trying to mate.

This is my confirmed male.

hmmm, it could be a female? I’m not sure though, but if she’s pretty large, and not fighting him, I’d keep an eye on them, and see if they breed

She’s about 20g heavier than him. She seemed pretty receptive to him earlier today. I haven’t seen any fighting. Just the male following her around probing with his tongue. He attempted a mount earlier, but she ran. Would a smaller male attempt that with another male?

edit I also have cresties, so I’m no stranger to breeding behavior

She ‘she’ laid duds? Until ‘she’ does I wouldn’t pair. How old?

There’s pores and a bulge there so imo until you see eggs I wouldn’t risk.
Some females can have pores and a slight bulge but those pores are very prominent…

Also some males display breeding characteristics to males to dominate.
