Hey y'all could use ya help

Hey I’m new here and just looking for some advice.

Got a male and female blood my bucket snakes I have had many other kinds of snakes. But out of all pythons Bloods fascinate me. Tbh they get a bad rep,my female has a tood, w.e. but my male is sweet as pie. I just would really like to know what they are. Is my female Borneo or is she a black head and well my male I just idk. They both have very prominent pink on them about three years old each. Please help me out. Have a great one

They both look like normal bloods to me. I’m not an expert, but normal blood pythons can be highly variable in colour, and both yours just look like different variants of “normal blood python” to me. I have a normal female who has more of a bright orange base colour, but she also has quite a bit of pink on her in various places.

Correct me if I’m wrong @jawramik but @bloodsforlife, you either have a blood python or a Borneo python etc. It’s automatically not going to be a Borneo, or a Sumatran, etc. You could not have a blood and it be a Borneo as well

I agree with @jawramik. They look normal. The black head is a separate gene from the pink or cream heads. But still a blood. A scale check may help but I am not sure if/how that is affected by hybridization. Being the age they are it is very possible one or both carry genes for albino. T pos or neg.
Lots of pink may indicate Bangka ancestry.
Anterior parietals in broad contact and no scales separating the lip from the eye- brongersmai.
Some blood appearances can look like borneo short tails.
It hasn’t been long since P. curtus was split in three so in the past hybrids were not known as hybrids. But, by their age, I would say blood.

Technically you could, as all short tail species can hybridize with each other. Producing hybrids is very much frowned upon, but that doesn’t mean that people don’t do it. And there may have been a time in the past when STP hybrids were more common. So it’s not technically impossible for an STP to be both a blood and a Borneo. Though I don’t necessarily think that’s the case with OPs snakes.
