Hognose pairings

Hi all! Getting my first hognose snake next week (been dreaming of one for over 6 years), and, in the FAR future I may be interested in breeding. I ofc know nothing about genetics yet, but want to spend a couple years learning. She is an extreme red with 100% het for mai tai. I guess my question is for when i look at getting more snakes, what would be some interesting male genetics i could pair with her and produce some cool outcomes?

If I were looking for a male I’d get a visual mai tai with arctic and/or conda. This would get you a nice group of sables and toffees with the occasional Mai tai all with a chance of Conda and Arctic. Any normals produced you know are 100% het mai tai.

If you can also find one from red lines that will go a long way to improving color saturation of the offspring. Extreme red is a polygenic trait so you have to breed like to like in order to retain/improve that quality in the babies.

Arctic can be tricky spotting in its het form if you aren’t used to it so I would do a lot of research and picture comparisons do ID it. And ideally also find a seasoned breeder who is willing to help you ID them.
