What would you say is an appropriately sized hide box for an average male hognose and an average female hognose? I want the size hide for each of the sexes, because I will be picking up a pair in november.

The RBI small hide (5.5"x4"x2.125" ) works fine for ours

I also agree with the small size black plastic hide box available from RBI, Lugarti and even Amazon (I think sold by Pangea). For young hognose, the small size. Adult males may still use the small. Adult females might need medium if the snake is big. Hognose like dark, tight-fit hides.
