My ackie has about a 2 or 3 inch section of shed in the middle of his tail that is just super stuck. I have tried soaks and tooth brush bristles with zero luck.
EDIT: He has a moist dig box that he sleeps in every night.
Any ideas how to get this off without hurting him?
Sometimes stuck shed will come off with the next shed.
Yeah I wondered about that. Never had that happen but I could see it as a possibility.
That’s the only thing I can think of. I put my occasional stubborn shedder, (ball python) in a warm wet pillow case. However I’m not sure it would work with an ackie. I would just keep an eye on that section of his tail. Hopefully it will come off with the next shed…..
Edit to add: My reptile vet has suggested pure vitamin oil for use on my snakes in the past so if that spot ends up needing a bit of TLC the oil might be helpful…..
