so ive set up my western hognose’s enclosure. the humidity is okay during the day (max 45% on hot side, 50% on cool side), but it spikes at night (approximately 70-85%). i live in a high humidity area, so my room humidity overall is relatively high. the small water bowl is on the cool side, ive got a mesh top, ive tried running a fan. id rather not buy a dehumidifier due to energy costs, noise, and the overall cost of it. im so stuck. i need help.

i was using a mix of soil and playsand, but to lower humidity i did add a lot of aspen bedding
A breeder once long ago that Western Hogs need more humidity than you think, especially when they shed. Shredded aspen should help but if your hog is doing well and not showing any respiratory symptoms I would not worry about it, especially since the humidity only rises at night.
Others may disagree I’m sure….
