How long should I set up a temporary enclosure? (Crestie)

I have a ~7 year old male crested gecko, who is usually in a sterile 18x18x24. I’m going to be switching to bioactive soon, but I’ll need to move my little guy to a temporary enclosure while I make the build…

I have a clear, small box (maybe 4x5?) that has a lid with ventilation. I know you’re supposed to wait around a month or so to let the bioactive enclosure establish before putting in your lizard, but I fear that he wouldn’t appreciate being stuck in a small box for a whole month…

I have a lot of fake plants/hides I can fit in the temporary enclosure. I’m just worried that it isn’t large enough for him to stay in for over a week.

So, is it alright to keep him in a small temporary enclosure for a month? Or would it be better to just put him in the day after I finish the build or so, to avoid stress (since he is quite skittish)? Maybe I should get a larger temporary box?

How big is the temp enclosure exactly?

Could you just buy a storage box that’s a bit larger than the one you have? They’re usually not super pricy, and you can repurpose it for more general storage once your crestie moves into the new bioactive.
