How to move a reptile cross country?

Hi! My best friend is moving from Texas back home to Nevada and we are wondering what the safest and budget friendly
options are for getting her leopard gecko from Texas to Nevada. We don’t have the means to drive her back, so we are looking for the best ways to get her here overnight or through a ground transport pet nanny

You’d have to ship the gecko via FedEx or UPS overnight. Shipping labels need to be purchased from a third party vendor, such as MorphMarket or Redline.

Here’s MM’s page on how to ship:

Can you fly with a gecko as carry-on? I know you can do that with dogs and cats so long as they’re in a TSA-approved carrier, might be worth calling some different airlines to see if they’ll allow that with a small lizard.

Though it also wouldn’t be that big a deal to ship overnight. Since leos are small, it shouldn’t be too outrageously expensive. The link @socraticmonologue provided above should be helpful. Just make sure to do your research on proper packing, insulation, and temp control packs. The shipping company should be able to advise you on that.

Looks like only dogs and cats are allowed by United and American (for $150); Delta allows dogs, cats and birds (for $150).

Reptiles are cargo-only animals.

@iluvrenton The only way to transport is FedEx and UPS? maybe, overnight. There are several reptile shippers such as Redline, Reptiles2You, MM, Reptiles Express, etc. You can get everything you need supply wise sent right to your door from any one of these shippers. @socraticmonologue John provided an informative link.

It’s always best to ship hub to hub. You will learn about that too……
