Do all blue tongues “huff” to express their displeasure? Mine certainly does.
Yes, they totally do. Huffing is lower level displeasure, full hissing with the mouth wide open and tongue sticking out is the escalation (only seen this in WC adult animals that are not experienced with humans). I’ve seen this behavior from more than one type of Tiliqua (Northern, Ambon & Irian Jaya), and I’ve seen it in both WC and CBB specimens. Even a tame captive may huff if startled.
