Humidity help

I can’t seem to bring my humidity down, I have a 7x2x2 enclosure for my super dwarf retic and the the side and bottom are sealed back is ventilated all the way across water bowl is large but close to the cool side just did a complete substrate change with much drier substrate than before, but for the last week I’ve been sitting at around 88%-92% humidity. What am I doing wrong I’ve never had this issue.

Sounds like the substrate might have just been too damp. What are your readings now that you switched out to a drier substrate?

You can also use a water bowl with a smaller surface area so there’s less evaporation.

Just curious, what’s the ambient humidity in your snake room? I’ve learned that room humidity has a huge impact on how to best manage humidity inside the enclosure.

I’m at about 80% humidity with a
room humidity of about 45%

2 things:
Which side is the heat on?
Get rid of substrate

I would turn whichever hide is on the cool side so that the water bowl can be placed all the way to that end. Also much smaller water will help.

Replace the substrate with clean unprinted newspaper.

These 2 changes should help. But the water bowl is the big culprit.
