I cant get any of my snakes to eat

That’s lovely, glad to hear it sorts itself. Again, I wasn’t being a d, I was simply letting you know as you’d be surprised the amount of people who leave it like that and wonder why their snakes end up with issues :woman_facepalming:t2:
Like I said I have one here who I wasn’t told about having issues due to high humidity it seems, and I quickly worked out she wasn’t ok… I’ve managed to help her luckily… Glad the woman no longer has any that’s for sure…

I do have knowledge though Thankyou, as I also keep Royals myself also along with many other reptiles/amphibians
But that’s ok for you to assume I don’t have any knowledge

And feel free to comment on my Babs if you like, they’re pretty cute so all comments welcome :hugs:

I have no need to comment on the ops situation as they’ve already been helped by looks of it and I don’t agree with giving ’selling’ animals who are ‘going to die’… Though I’m sure with the right help they’ll be ok… (I have been been sold sick animals before and it’s really not ok to do, you shouldn’t ‘sell’ any animal with issues I personally think, I wouldn’t anyway)
Giving them to someone who can possibly help them though, I am all for that so they get the best care they deserve. And I’m sure the op knows other breeders or Royal owners who may be willing to take them on and help them if they can’t keep anymore and would rather go down that route.

What are your temps? Never seen that listed and what are you using for substrate? I don’t think hides are the issue with all the snakes not eating I have a lot of balls that won’t even use them and still eat well.

And can we stay on the op original topic please.

I’m not so sure breeders or anyone with a large collection would take these on since the not eating could be a symptom of a much worse problem. You will have a hard time convincing them to put other animals at risk even with a good quartine.

pg on the language please and no personal attacks I think this has went far enough.

I didn’t mean big breeders, I know some big and and a few small.
And a lot of them are more than happy taking in and helping snakes, assuming no issue but just not eating that is obviously.
Though I do know a few who have also taken in ones with serious issues to help them.

Taking these animals in would be a HUGE risk to any collection imo

The problems aren’t always obvious.

But i also know a few who’ve brought off the same breeder last year and all ended up with RI’s too. Which took out a lot of some of their collection…

Honestly it’s awful.
But if there’s no underlying issue, then maybe there’s some helpful people out there.

Not sure what vets are like there but are you able to ‘surrender’ the snakes to them?…

It is a terrible situation but not worth risking way more snakes health. And the op purchased these snakes it’s there responsibility to continue to try and fix things and get the snakes eating. This is why I stress starting out small and getting down the basics before purchasing a lot of animals with minimal experience

I agree myself… I wouldn’t have any of my lot if I couldn’t help them if it were needed…

But the op also seems to be in a situation now where they can’t afford treatment (if any needed), so then the best thing may be to surrender them…

It’s tough times atm for a lot of people, everything’s gone up and a lot can’t pay for their animals.
I mean here in the uk for instance people are rehoming their reptiles due to not being able to even buy them food any more, they’re even giving them away and even releasing them! A beardie was found tied to a post the other day up north for crying out loud… It’s like they don’t know they can give them to rescues or surrender elsewhere rather than risking them harm…

I am almost certain that if they post the group on craiglist or a facebook ball python group someone will be happy to take them, get them checked out by a vet and get them in good condition. It’s something I have done myself when I have time and spare quarantine space.

If all 5 snakes are not eating for an extended amount of time to the point where they’re losing weight, this goes beyond adjusting the humidity, getting a slighter bigger/smaller hide, or other minor husbandry adjustments. We can suggest things all day and night, but I think they need to be in the hands of someone equipped to handle this situation

That’s what a lot of people I know are like, just want to help them…

And a completely different room to house then in away from your other lot I’ll add! :black_heart:

Daniel, are you in Tampa? I know the owner of Mosaic Morphs in Tampa. If yall are in the same area and its not an inconvenience for her I would be happy to introduce you to her and see if her and her husband could check in with you. Eyes on the problem might help. No promises but im willing to make the introduction.

I agree this might be a good step.

If you’re in Houston area, I’m happy to come take a look and see what I can do, although I don’t currently have the space to take in any new snakes right now

One other question I had was if any of the collection has died?

I think my bedroom is too bright guys. My snakes were all kinda fat before so they dont look as bad

Before they were in a room used for storage so all they got was the light that came through the window. Now theyre in a room that has a light on all day

I don’t think the light is the problem, especially since they have hides, I’ve always kept mine in the living room which has a huge glass sliding door. Many of mine are even in giant aquarium tanks in front of windows and they’re eating just fine
