I dont know what the parent were unfortunately, but I was told he is a black pastel, leopard, enchi, spotnose. I dont think theres enchi, I’ve look at a few pictures but can’t seem to figure it out. Thank you for helping very appreciated.
Enchi, when in combination with BlkPastel, can be extremely subtle. Adding in known darkening mutations like Leopard and Spotnose, and you are going to further suppress the expression of the trait
From the pics you have posted (which are not the best for identification purposes), the “bleaching” of the head and the colour around the tail indicate to me that Enchi might be present. But short of genetic testing or breeding to prove it out, I do not know you can be certain
I can definitely see this being a Blk pastel leopard spotnose, but as Travis said, enchi can be subtle. It may be part of why the front end looks to have a softer pattern and not as busy at the tail end.
Depending on how high the expression is for any of the genes involved can definitely affect how this snake appears.
I would definitely consider shed testing to be sure
Thanks for the reply, for future reference which kina pictures are good for refinishing? I am quite new to identification. Much appreciate
Thank you for having a look, I’m quite new to the identification game. I appreciate your response
Ideal pictures for identification would be of the entire snake on a flat surface and ideally in natural lighting - outside or near a window. We need to be able to see the head and body all at once, as well as the sides.
Awesome thanks for that, I will keep that in mind in the future cause I’m sure ai will need help again if I can’t figuit out. Cheers
