I never see it before

I live in Miami for 16 years and I never seen an iguana like this

I think you are right. I was going to say that doesn’t look like an iguana to me. Closely related perhaps.

Black iguana/black spiny tailed iguana.

It’s a Mexican/central American species, but it’s also found in the Caribbean and Florida now too.

I have seen these guys on my trips to Miami. They can get pretty big and don’t like if you try to catch them lol. They stand their ground compared to greens :wink:.

They are very beautiful. The last time I was down south I caught a couple greens but never saw one of these.
