It’s usually a lot easier to wait for them to shed for IDs. The shiny fresh baby skin and some still developing colors makes some IDs like fire a bit more difficult.

Can you post a picture of the sire?

Sire (please ignore the red sharpie, he was with a very similar looking female recently)

(also he was 50% het pied)

After seeing the sire I’d say he’s carrying the Red Gene as well, pos Ringer.

Also, please don’t sharpie a snake because you can’t tell them apart. The ink is toxic. If you have issues, take a photo of the eye stripes, or a certain identifying marker and make note that this is “x” snake.

any guesses on the babies? I assumed (hoped) the ringers on him and some babies were pied markers. As for the sharpie being toxic I thought toxic markers went out decades ago. I also mark all my eggs with sharpie??? I can switch to a paint pen I guess or a paint brush and food coloring. What do you use? What is the norm? edit-i just read up on ringer gene versus ringer marks :open_mouth:

I don’t mark eggs or snakes.
