Wait until after the first shed, then send pics in natural sunlight.
Will do
Thanks
At a glance, looks like a pastel Blk pastel (Blk pewter).
But yes, IDs are best done after at least the first shed. Some genes even the first 2-3 are best as they color up.
Agree with ID after first shed, as the colors can change significantly. That said, based on this picture I’d say you’ve got a black pewter (black pastel, pastel) bongo, not visual DG. We can confirm after it sheds.
Hi there
This is the other clutch member im struggling with id.amongst the clutch theres od bp and od bp bongo with bongo tail ringer.
Cheers
Can you post photos of the parents? That 2nd one looks like a sterling. Might have something else going on here.
I almost wonder if your Blk pewter bongo has sandblast. The first baby reminds me so much of my Blk pewter sandblast. There are a few bongo pewters that have been listed with this look, but many are more of a reduced pattern. If not just black pewter I would say Blk pastel Bongo with no pastel.
The 2nd is tricky because not all the colors come in right away. This snake may look very different in a couple sheds.
I would say at the very least this is the bongo pewter because they are so similar to mom. But I believe OD as well.
Bongo and Black pastel both have a lot of variance in how they express. It could also be a matter of if it’s barnhart Blk pastel or just Blk pastel. I’m having my girls tested for that reason. One Blk pewter popped out like yours. The others did not. ![]()
Cheers for your thoughts on id
Gonna have to sort shed test
No problem! Hopefully @inspirationexotics can pop in for a double check as well.
