I have some unexpected baby’s in the clutch on which I would need second opinion please
So the pairing was hypo bloodred pied het amel anery × the same. This is unrelated pairing , but apart of hypo bloods I have something more charcoal looking and instead of avalanche something looking like blizzard ( on third picture)
On first I wasn’t sure what to think about that but this male is a sire to different clutch to charcoal bloodred girl and from this clutch I have charcoal looking and anery babies unfortunately the charcoal baby didn’t make it so he’s not pictured
Cute little ones! In order to get Charcoal morphs, you’d have to have Charcoal in both parents. Is it possible that they’re carrying Charcoal and you didn’t know? Sure. Hidden hets pop up all the time. You (and we) will be better able to determine your babies’ morphs after they’ve had at least their first shed. There can be a surprising degree of color development between hatching and shedding.
My thoughts now, understanding that their colors will change: The first baby does have a dark eye as one would expect with Charcoal. Its overall coloring looks more Anery to me, especially its head. Charcoal neonates have noticeable dark blue “eyebrows” which I don’t see. Maybe after a shed it will look more definitive
The second currently looks to me to be Blizzard rather than Avalanche. That said, I’ve had baby Avalanches hatch looking very much like that, very little pattern at first. Pied might accentuate this. Might show more accurately after a shed.
Same goes for the dark morph baby in the final images. Its eye does look to be Anery, as does the rest of it. In this case, perhaps your adults have an unexpected Anery het. Again, wait until it’s had a shed or two.
They are after first shed already, that’s why im confused, the hypo influence is doing the job as well as the parents are visible hypo so the babies are as well which in this case don’t make it easier
Yeah that’s what I think as well , to be honest I convinced this what it is but looking for other opinions as don’t want to label them wrong when they hit mm
I did not realize those were post-shed pics for the first two. I’d say Pewter and Whiteout then. I do think pics in natural light of the top of the Pewter’s head would be good. That should be able to confirm the “eyebrow” markings. The dark eye looks very Charcoal.
Really pretty babies. I don’t have charcoal myself so others’ opinions would carry more weight, but I will add another voice that the first three photos absolutely look to be both pewter and blizzard. Congratulations on an amazing start to your season. Exciting hets to have pop up!
I’m still can’t figure it out, ar this is pied side or the diffused influence is so high what’s your opinion? As this baby have some darker markings on the side which makes me think that’s pied
I’m no Pied expert, haven’t worked with it, but along with extreme diffusion on the sides, the white nose says Pied to me. Maybe someone who actually works with Pied can give a more informed assessment.
