He is530g less than 1 year. Feed 60g rat/week
Is he overweight
He looks overweight to me. It’s said that the rodent should weigh 10% of the snakes’ body weight so a 53gram rat is more appropriate. I would also suggest feeding every 2 weeks at this point……
Others may disagree
Yes he is obese…

Go down to 50-53 gram rats (focus on 10% body weight) every 10 days, if he doesn’t slim down a little bit within a month or two increase to feeding every 14 days. Males do not need to be as chunky as females even as breeders, and he especially doesn’t need to be overweight like this if you aren’t planning on breeding him.
@pastellesser You could also feed varying weights of rodents as opposed to exact 10% of weight of your snake. In the wild ball pythons do not have the luxury of eating rodents at the weight of 10% of themselves.
I feed my adult females as well as my males varying sizes (within reason) of rodents. But I am not a breeder either. All of my ball pythons are extremely reliable eaters. They do very well with eating every 14 days or so.
