Is it ok to feed nocturnals/crepusculars with a low light on?

I sometimes use a flashlight in the dark to see what I’m doing but it gets really cumbersome. Since he’s a fat tail wouldn’t he be used to seeing a little light at the start of his “day”.

I feed my leopard geckos with the lights on. It’s never been an issue for them. Sometimes when they’re shy young babies though you might need to leave some mealies in a dish for them to find when they’re not trying to hide from the big hyooman

A majority of the species I keep are nocturnal and they aren’t deterred by light during feeding. The only exception I make is for hatchling Ball Pythons that are a bit shy to eat so I leave them with their food in the dark and just keep my phone light handy to monitor them.

He just gets super grumpy when he notices the light.

What species are you keeping exactly?

Yup! But sometimes I throw in a few small crickets and the tiny little ones go on a hunting spree!

I think my guy must be an old timer. He gets pretty cranky sometimes

But for never being handled before he is doing pretty good
