Is my snake egg bound?

My first time breeder female layed 12 eggs, i noticed them this morning but not sure if she actually layed them yesterday because i wasnt expecting them so soon. I notice she still has a large bulge and clearly still has eggs in her. When do i consider her egg bound and seek veterinary assistance? Is there anything i can do at home to try and aid her in the process? I already gave her a good soak but im trying not to stress her out too much since im unsure exactly when she started laying.

I’d give her 24 hours to see if she can get it out on her own, but if she starts behaving as if she is distressed or if she becomes lethargic sooner then absolutely get her to a vet.

Do not attempt to aid her in passing this egg. Soaking is the most you can do alone in this situation, just don’t try any physical methods of aiding as you can risk seriously injuring or killing your snake.

If 24 hours have passed and the egg is still not out she needs to go to a vet asap. I’d go ahead and contact your vet in advance so if she is indeed eggbound they can get her in quickly.

I concur with everything @cmsreptiles said. I’d add that you can try and offer snake a drink of fresh water. Sometimes they’ll accept it, and it’s a good thing if they do. Otherwise, give the vet a heads-up call and leave her alone. If 24 hours have passed with no progress, get her in to a vet.

Don’t be too discouraged. It looks like whatever she has left is right down by her cloaca. If she doesn’t get it out on her own, the vet will be able to get it without major issues. Congrats on the healthy eggs so far, and best of luck.

How is she today? I will add to the already excellent advice that sometimes offering a small calcium dusted meal will give her an extra boost of energy.
