That’s kinda my strat with my Sonoran Boas! I love Super Hypo Sonorans, but like Leopards and know they are sought after if pure Sonoran. So I have a Hypo 66het female with a Hypo Leopard male. Can prove her out and try for Super Hypos while having 100het babies that people will want more.
Eventually testing will eliminate all the possible hets most hate. Guess I’ll just have to keep making my own to get my fix. Have a pairing now that will produce possible quint hets. Doubt the tests for all of those will be available as soon as I would like though.
Unfortunately, worst case is he could get a clutch of all normals, as the snakes he has are both poss. Double hets, not 100% hets.
Right… So I guess it depends if you have a good method of finding homes for a clutch of normals or not. If not, then maybe getting some 100hets or visuals to prove each of the genes may be a better strat so the babies at least have a bit more desirability? (That’s a reason I got a visual rather than het in a proving out situation with the 66het female)
You where raised the right way then
