Isopoda Further Category Breakdown

I was told to post this, under this category from a support email.

Keeping isopods as a pet past a cleaner in a tank/feeder has grown a lot as of late, but the categorical breakdowns in the animal search doesn’t match this. All isopods are looped into the same “Isopods” category, which can lead to potential care problems.

While you can just keyword search, this doesn’t always work as sometimes the title only consists of the color variations name. My suggestion is sub-categories under “Isopods” for common genuses in the pet trade (Armadillidium, Cubaris, Porcellio, etc) along with Misc.

Another note, springtails are commonly listed in the “Isopods” category, despite them not being biologically related. This would, in theory, be fine, if some weren’t also in the “More Invertebrates” (where they should be). Any sort of fix for this would be lovely, whether that be a dedicated springtails tab in “Other Invertebrates” or something else.

Oh I don’t keep any personally, but it would be great to see some more category work happening there.

As far as the springtails in isopods… I haven’t checked how many are there. But that would be something I would flag the ad for support.

From my count there are 25~ springtails in the isopods category (not including combo/bioactive kits), and from the report option it seems like this falls under “y’should probably just contact the seller”. that doesn’t seem like the greatest idea for so many listings (i assume my acc would get flagged for so many inquiries).

Shockingly this is a bit under half of the total springtail listings, there are only 31 in the “More Invertebrates” category. I dont think this is the fault of the sellers, more so a lack of clear language/categorization.
