Is it animal abuse to put a cape on that them before pictures are taken. Because that sounds amazing to me
I haven’t even handled my cresties yet (still working on it) but I can’t wait to try this (with a cape). A cape would be amazing. Super Gecko!
Oh I didn’t think of that!
I’m gonna try get some better ones tomorrow!
Omg.
I swear my daughter has a cape somewhere from her dolls…
Don’t tempt me…
But, you totally should.
Definitely try it!!! It would so win everyone’s hearts
Maybe just animate the Cape, or the poor Gecko’s will be dressing up all day long lol
Good luck holding your Crestie @erie-herps it’s so much fun. I like to have something near by, like a plant, that they like to jump to…You may be lucky and if you wait long enough you may get a pick of him jumping on his enclosure!
I wonder if the next photo of the month theme will be super reptiles?
Really great pictures. It really looks so dramatic:joy: flying dragon picture would be great
Mine has it’s moments. Sometimes he jumps around like crazy almost without control but then his really not that great in aiming and often jumps to far. The crazy thing is that most of the time he does rescue himself with his tail and dangles upside down on his tail tip till he can drop down. If it gets to much I stop his craziness by holding a hand a few seconds in front of his face. Ones he stops the pingpong action he cools down and gets himself more under control
I believe I can fly!
If/when I get into cresties, I am going to love taking jumping pictures
This probably would work really well if you had a shutter burst camera. That would allow you to have multiple pictures of the same jump, theoretically allowing you to capture a better jump position per shot.
That is exactly what my phone did, I hadn’t used the function before yesterday but my husband uses it all the time with the kids lol I just picked out the best pics or would of taken ages to send!
I’m sure you will love Cresties when you get into them
Be careful you know where your crestie is jumping. Woody, my Cresty , jumped and jumped again. He was missing in my house for about a week. I was so happy when I found him, I have been afraid to get him out since. I hold him in front of his terrarium and let him jump back in.
That is a good tip @toadhall , when I started out with my first jumpy / nervous Crestie (4 grams), I held him in his enclosure and slowly worked up to holding him out of the enclosure, now he is docile. Although he is a cheeky jumper, he aims one way but then jumps in a different direction which was difficult when he was little but not so much now… Well not for me at least.
Sometimes I sit on the floor with a plant near by, that way my Cresties have somewhere to aim for should they feel stressed.
Cresties pick up on anxiety, so best thing is to try to keep calm
