Whole day I was building a new 2 meter tall stand for my new snakes that will come this weekend plus 12 babies . I want to show another snake I own
This girl Adira is 9 month old , perfectly hydrated , sheds in one piece recently developed that interesting ridge of white skin that looks like a fin . Any ideas what that could be ? The breeder I got her from said she never saw anything like that. Snake is alert , eats well and that doesn’t bother her . But I’m curious what’s that .

I know someone I can check with to see what he thinks it is. It just looks like extra skin to me that should come off with the next shed but we will see….
Ok @allytheant Ally. My buddy agrees with me that it is probably shed/skin that did not come off after the last shed. It should come fine with the next shed….

Thank you ! It’s weird coz last time she shed perfectly in one piece but who knows . I can give her a bath to see if anything will change .

I would not worry about it too much. You could maybe just up the humidity a bit. I think I saw this on my girl once.

I will ! Right now there’s more interesting things going on . She double clutched !! Had her asi now know , prelay shed 3 th June . I felt about 8-9 perfect eggs in her .
Plus the new snakes arrived from Netherlands and girl is severely underfed with 14 gram weight at 9 months age ! Boy is 26

Wow thats severely underweight and now that small girl got constipated. For now trying bath , some crawling around and light massage . And she is so sweet and curious and love to swim , was crawling in the mesh with others today
And Lakshmi preparing for her second clutch . I was so mad with her and told her what I think of her idea .

Like velvet they are unbelievably smooth to the touch , like thousands small matte beads but smoother . And I was told , they will get even better skin texture with age .

How does the micro scale compare with the scaleless? Or do you know? Or are they the same thing?

They aren’t the same mutation, but they’re allelic. So there’s an intermediate phenotype for a corn that’s het Microscale and het Scaleless.

So Lakshmi laid her second clutch today . She is fine , it went easy and I found her right afterwards. She was bathed , fed and now resting after making a swamp in her container
3 good eggs but weird shape in one and 6 uncalcified eggs but all of them have embryo inside , I wanted to discard them and even gave one to dog who politely declined to touch it . Then candled the 3 good eggs to mark the embryo position . Then I got curious and candled one of those “ slug” looking eggs , it had a disc with red dot inside so is the rest 5 . I don’t know if it’s possible but at least 3 eggs from those yellow are looking like growing some sort of calcified shell if it’s even possible . Anyways I will incubate them till they either collapse or show signs of growth .

Not necessarily underweight. Like @deanaii , I’ve had more than a few that size and age. She might have hatched extra small, taken a while to get feeding reliably, or both. In determining whether one is underweight it is best to evaluate her body condition rather than look at a number on a scale.
I’m curious, why you think she’s constipated?
I live Microscales, btw. Debated hard about adding those.
