What a pretty weirdo!
Wow ghosthoust! That’s one crazy corn!
I love that! So beautiful.
Oh my, what a beautiful baby! I love that funky patterning!
For what it’s worth, the bloodlines of that baby’s dam do produce a lot of Cubes as well as a lot of very clean Stripes. I can’t recall ever seeing one pop up with rounded markings like this baby has. I’ll have a look though old photos at some time this week. The closest thing I can recall to this presentation is Aurelius, but his markings are much less rounded. Here are some of his neonate pics for comparison.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of these, Jen!I picked that cubed out of all your snakes because I like unusual patterrns so I was hoping to breed more cubes from her! But since the snow had a date with my friends’ snake already this was the only stripe I had to test them with. I don’t know if those little spots are from the dappled or cubed but if so unlike any other cubes I have seen. It’s almost like motley in reverse. His first half looks like most stripes and vanishing stripes with the twin lines down the sides. On last year’s dapples that was only around the head pattern and it quickly switched to the dorsal line. Now I have rounder spots and only on the back half. I hope there will be a few more stripes out of the clutch, so far I have 5 motleys and this guy. The thing that makes it different is where on the back the markings are IMO. Never saw one with dorsal markings that wasn’t a sunkissed stripe
I will get post shed pictures without the substrate ■■■■ all over them lol. I have a few more on insta
I did get another spotty stripe but it’s being feisty. There’s a video on instagram where you can see it a little better
Seems like there’s something else going on. Like they’re not just weird cubes.
Very cool!
It’s very eerie @ghosthouse!
Last couple babies. One is the only hypo that also happens to be the only motley with a leopard appearance. One more low expression stripe but I think I still see some dots. There is one egg left that has not pipped
Love that dark Stripe+!
Love the little bowties!
What a bewitching clutch!
I agree. They don’t look like cubes to me, nor like more commonly seen messy Stripes. The only think I can think of that looks anything like these is what I remember being called Sunspot corns back in the day. The baby with the central dark spots has that a bit of that look. (For those who may not know, Sunspots are a selectively bred Stripe.) I don’t have any idea if anyone if working with these any more.
The baby with the sideways-spotting you posted first doesn’t look like anything familiar to me. Very, very cool!
The sire’s name is Hourglass for those markings!
The last one is out! That is it for the outcross. The repeat pairing should start hatching in another week or so.
Awww, those eyes!! I know I said it before, but my, what a lovely clutch!
