I heard somewhere that centipede fangs are actually just…legs that evolved venom? I have no idea if it’s accurate but if it is, it honestly makes this funnier
I want…STABBY LEGS

Yup, their toxicognaths are modified legs. VENOMOUS stabby legs. Pretty freaking cool. And also terrifying.
Some has GOT to make that a t-shirt!!
Having this fact go from ‘I heard this, but it might be wrong’ to ‘its true they have stabby feet’ is emotionally overwhelming, why is evolution like this
I’d buy that for sure!
I love bringing up toxicognaths in conversations randomly
@pcexotics just launched his own herp themed apparel line (Fulvius) I am sure he could probably work something like that out
I love learning aggressively complicated new words to use in conversation to freak my mom out
I have learned lots of complicated words from Clint’s Reptiles but toxicognaths is my favorite
When my leo had his sperm plug impaction I had to teach my mom the word hemipene so she could understand what was going on and care for him as I made it home…she now constantly uses it because it makes my little brother uncomfortable
Not to derail from the totally awesome stabby legs, nor from the indubitable joys of teaching people fun new science vocabulary, but I do want to apologize for my earlier derailment into a garbage truck. (Although my epic plan remains the same in a truck garage!

Het paper bag
Got to get that het discount Walmart plastic bag
What a disgruntled little shoelace!
That’s so adorable!
This is great!
I probably should have posted this to Reptiles in the Wild? Looks like an alligator, but I’m guessing Croc-odile! Caught this guy outside my Post Office. Usually seen in pairs…
Ha, my kid has those shoes except he plucked the eyes out!
