Looking for advice ! Our girl is missing , going on a full week

Hello MM community , I need your help! Any advice, tips or tricks anyone can offer is greatly appreciated *long post*

Last Monday our 4 year old female ball python escaped her enclosure. I tried to redo her tank lid and clearly failed . We having been looking all week : I got an endoscope camera just to check the walls and roof .

We live in my moms home in the basement with a full bathroom, the washer and dryer are down there as well , also the ac/heating unit a water softener and a water heater- I have check all cracks , holes and ect … the floor under all that is concrete and then out in the main ‘living’ area is carpet laid down with an insolation part under it . As side from the big appliances I have a fish tank, 2 other BP tanks ( she was in the Middle of the 2) , our bed one recliner chair , a tv stand with our tv and a mini fridge. ( pictures of our girl added)

I have literally checked every one of those spots and some walls that she may have gotten into … the basement is not big by any means, nor is she a small girl . We have tried the rat in a warm area 3 times and nothing .. I’ve had a hot hide down since she went missing with her favorite hut, and her water dish .. we’ve tried adding a space heater to amp it up a bit and she if that would help and we still haven’t seen or heard any sign of her …

We have 2 medium sized dogs, they roam freely but we’ve been keeping them upstairs since she went missing . We also cover her tank at night time, but we are not sure which way she actually went … I have flour down on the floor around the bottom of the walls and around the big appliances and nothing … the stair well to go upstairs is close to our bed but there is also a light on 24/7 so I don’t feel like she could of went upstairs … we’ve checked the roof also .

My boyfriend has raised her since she was a baby , she’s been raised on frozen and she’s only escaped once before and she was found the same day , I’m worried that since we haven’t heard a thing or even noticed anything off if anyone has any random tricks they have used or any advice at all it is greatly appreciated!

You’ll need to check the rest of the house. Ball Pythons can absolutely climb up stairs and get to other areas, a light being on isn’t going to stop them… believe me I’ve seen my BP scale an 8ft metal shelving unit with no issue whatsoever.

Check any and all crevices even if you don’t believe she could fit. There’s a good chance if you haven’t heard or noticed anything that she found a good spot to hunker down. Stay up late one night and do a full house search.

I also really hate to say this, if you have 2 dogs that have never interacted with a snake before and suddenly find one while not being supervised… the chance is not 100% guaranteed but it is possible they may kill it. Be very watchful of them and look out for weird behaviors from them.

Don’t assume she is on the floor hiding. Look up. Book shelves, closet shelves, fridge top, anywhere up as well as down. She’s probably upstairs but don’t necessarily count on it. Look eye level and up. Everywhere. As Christina says, bps can climb and will. Keep an eye on your dogs at all time as well. I guarantee you she is in a high place. She is hiding in plain sight.
