Looking forward to Chahoua pairings

They’re such cool geckos. Awesome to watch grow because they go through all the personality phases (cute babies, moody teenagers, confident adults) and each one is so unique. Most chahoua breeders let babies grow out for a number of months before even considering listing them because of how hard it can be to tell what they’re going to look like as adults. I mean, Maze looked pretty unassuming as a baby!

Wow! That’s quite a color change! That whole ontogenic development thing is one of the reasons I have so many grow-out holdback corn snakes. With some traits it’s relatively easy with experience to look at them and have a good idea how they’ll look as adults. With others, not so much. And with the more unusual combos, there just aren’t enough examples around to predict. So yeah, I’ve got about a jillion. I love watching them growand develop. Sorta like Chahouas, it seems. Sounds like one more reason I need to stay away from this thread!  :joy:

I picked up Twi’lek yesterday! I’m keeping the name her breeder gave her. She’s a proven 2019 girl, and she looks so different depending on whether she decides to fire dark & green or lighter & white!

Congrats on another beauty for your project! Wow, it is wild that her look changes at will so completely. (Wish I could do that! Lol)

Have gotten some updated pictures recently! Pairs wise, Maze will be going to Raziel:

And then Twi’lek will go to Abydos once he’s big enough, hopefully in the next few months:

And then I finally managed to get a pretty good picture of Birch. I love how different they can look depending on how they’re fired. These three pictures are all the same gecko:

We’ve got to plan a time, Caron! I’m free the next couple of weekends maybe…

@lumpy If you’re going to get a gecko, I really can’t recommend chahoua enough. In fact, if you’re looking for a pet, I have a friend looking to rehome some retired breeders.

Oh, I’ll definitely consider them in my search of maybe a gecko in my future. Sadly I can’t take anything right now as I’m trying to move out, but thanks for the offer.
