Male or female hognose?

Just picked up a new baby, it was sold to me as a female but I’m not so sure. I already have another female hoggie and comparing their tails (from photos) makes me think this isn’t female. What do y’all think?

I don’t know hogs really well, but that looks pretty girly for any colubrid.

I’m thinking female…
These are not hatchlings but it is a very clear comparison, female being on the left image and the male being on the right image.

If you aren’t sure you can get the Hoggie shed tested through RGI or have someone experienced probe them to determine sex.

I’m far from an expert, but it looks female to me, mainly based on how quickly the tail starts to taper after the vent. Males not only have longer tails, but their tails taper much more gradually than a female’s.

There is a fair amount of variation in the exact shape and length of the tails, even between members of the same species and sex. So just because this one doesn’t look exactly the same as your other female doesn’t mean it’s male.

As everyone else has said, from the shape & taper, looks like you’ve got a girl. You can also count scale pairs after the cloaca, under 38 is usually female. Like @cmsreptiles mentioned, MorphMarket offers sex determination shed testing through RGI for $20.

So on my knowledge I am more experienced with cresties but I also research about hognose snakes, but I can tell that’s a girl. Yk that stipe/ their cloaca will be closer to the end of the tail also the tail more short and stubby. While males usually have longer thinner tails and that stripe will be further away from the end of the tail. Hope that helps you :)!!!
