Male or Female? Sexing BP

Hi all,

Just got this new ball python that is about 6 months old. Can you help me tell if it is male or female?

Based on this picture alone I’m seeing a female.

But keep in mind, if you’re not pretty comfortable with popping it’s always possible to miss the right angle to evert the hemipenes, so while I would say likely female, it’s possible I’m wrong.

From what i can tell your hand placement is a bit off to be able to pop correctly.

look like a female but you are also not popping the snake right .in the second picture it looks like you are pinching the snake instead of doing a rolling motion.

You could have looked at it’s tail and got an estimated guess on if it’s female or male. Males typically have longer tails. Popping could damage the snake so I’d recommend you get a professional to do it. I can’t really tell by the photo but in my opinion it looks male. I could be wrong though,

This does not work for ball pythons. Popping, probing, or shed testing is the only way to tell
